May, June and September are the best months, with highs of about 26–30°C, warm sea and room in the villages. April and May are peak birdwatching season around Kalloni; July and August are hot (about 34°C) and busy around the 15 August festivals.

Spring (Mar–May)
Highs rise from about 14°C in March to 26°C in May, with 4–8 rainy days; wildflowers and bird migration.
Summer (Jun–Aug)
Hot and dry, with highs of about 30–34°C and almost no rain; busiest in August.
Autumn (Sep–Nov)
September (about 29°C) and October (about 24°C) are excellent; Kalloni sardines are at their best around August–September. November is cooler and wetter.
Winter (Dec–Feb)
Mild, with highs of about 13–15°C and 7–11 rainy days; Mytilene stays lively, but many resort hotels close.
