Is Seville expensive? What things really cost in 2026
Short answer
Seville is good value by Western European standards: cheaper than Madrid or Barcelona for food and drink, and far cheaper than Paris or London. A careful traveller can manage on about €80 a day and a mid-range trip costs about €165; prices jump only during Semana Santa and the Feria de Abril, when hotels can double.

Where the money goes
Accommodation is the largest cost: about €40 a night per person sharing a budget double and €80 mid-range, with central Santa Cruz and the streets around the Cathedral costing the most. Food is cheap if you eat tapas at the bar (about €20 a day on a budget), and the old town is so compact that transport costs only a couple of euros a day. Sights and shows are the second biggest item: the Alcázar, the Cathedral, Casa de Pilatos, Las Setas and a flamenco show together come to about €80–90.
When it is cheaper
July and August are the cheapest months for hotels, often roughly 30–40% below spring, because of the heat (highs of 37–38°C); November to February are also good value. Semana Santa and the Feria de Abril are the most expensive weeks of the year.
How to spend less
- Eat tapas at the bar rather than full raciones at a table: three or four tapas at €3–4.50 make a meal.
- Book the Alcázar for the first slot of the day online; check its website for any free-entry slots, which must also be booked.
- Walk everywhere in the centre: from the Alameda to Plaza de España is about 30 minutes on foot.
- Choose a small flamenco venue (about €25) rather than a big tablao with dinner.
- Take the EA airport bus (about €4–5) instead of a taxi if you travel alone or as a couple.
- If your dates are flexible, avoid Holy Week and Feria week, when rooms can cost twice as much.
