Where to sleep for less

Budget travellers stay in rooms and studios near Gribovo beach, at about €45–75 a night for a double, 15–20 minutes' walk from the harbour. There are no large hostels, so solo travellers pay close to the double rate.

Getting around cheaply

Walk around town: the harbour to Psani is about 10 minutes and to Gribovo about 15. Arrive by KTEL bus from Athens' Kifissos terminal (about 3 hours) or from Patras. Hire a car only for the Mesolongi, Galaxidi or mountain days.
