Where to sleep for less
Budget travellers stay in hostels near the railway station and Metelkova, 10 minutes' walk from the old town, at about €70–110 for a private double or roughly €25–40 for a dorm bed in summer.
Getting around cheaply
Walk the car-free centre; city buses cost about €1.30 per ride with an Urbana card. Buses to Bled leave about hourly from the bus station next to the train station. From Brnik airport, the public bus is the cheapest option, shuttles slightly more.

- Travel in May, June or September for good weather without peak summer prices.
