Where to sleep for less

Budget travellers stay in the hostels and apartments of Bled town, 5–15 minutes' walk from the lake and the bus station, with rooms around €60–110. Mlino and Zasip on the edge of Bled are a little quieter and cheaper than the lakefront.

Getting around cheaply

Walk around the lake. From Ljubljana, the bus takes about 1 hour 15 minutes and costs about €7. Local buses run to Bohinj, and a summer shuttle serves Vintgar Gorge. Lesce-Bled railway station is 4 km away, linked by bus.
