Best time to visit Myanmar: month by month
Short answer
November to February is the coolest, driest season, with highs of 31–33°C (cooler in the hills) and very little rain. March to May is very hot, reaching 36°C or more in the central plains. The monsoon from June to October brings rain on 25–30 days a month, especially in Yangon.

Hot season (Mar–May)
Very hot at 34–36°C in Yangon and hotter in Bagan and Mandalay; the Thingyan water festival in mid-April.
Monsoon (Jun–Aug)
Heavy rain on 29–30 days a month in Yangon, with highs around 30°C; roads can flood.
Late monsoon (Sep–Oct)
Rain continues but begins to ease in October; the Thadingyut festival of lights marks the end of Buddhist Lent.
Cool season (Nov–Feb)
The most comfortable time, dry with highs of 31–33°C and cooler nights around 20°C.

When to avoid
March to May is extremely hot in the central plains, and the monsoon makes travel difficult from June to September. Above all, avoid any area where your government advises against travel.
