Short answer
The best months are April to June and September to November, with highs of 23–28°C, little rain and sea swimming from May. July and August are hot and humid at 31°C with lows of 25°C, and many residents head to the mountains. Winter is mild at 17–20°C but brings 8–15 rainy days a month.

Spring (Mar–May)
Highs climb from 18°C in March to 26°C in May; March is still showery (about 15 rainy days) but May is almost dry.
Summer (Jun–Aug)
Highs of 28–31°C and humid nights of 21–25°C, practically no rain; beach clubs and rooftop bars are busy.
Autumn (Sep–Nov)
Warm sea and highs of 30°C in September falling to 24°C in November; rain returns gradually from October.
Winter (Dec–Feb)
Mild at 17–20°C by day and 10–13°C at night, with 8–13 rainy days a month; snow in the mountains about an hour away.
