Is Boracay expensive? What things really cost in 2026
Short answer
Boracay is one of the more expensive places to visit in the Philippines: rooms, drinks and boat trips cost more than in Palawan towns or Cebu, though it is still cheap compared with Western beach resorts. Expect about ₱2,650 a day per person on a tight budget, about ₱6,500 mid-range and ₱15,300 or more for comfort. Rooms take the largest share, and prices rise sharply at Christmas, New Year and Holy Week.

Where the money goes
Accommodation is the biggest cost, and you must book an accredited hotel before you arrive: guesthouses in Station 3 cost about ₱1,800–3,000 a night, mid-range rooms in Station 2 or Bulabog ₱3,000–7,000, and resorts in Station 1, Diniwid or the north-east ₱9,000–25,000. Activities come next — island hopping, paraw sails, diving and kitesurfing lessons all run from about ₱1,500 to ₱5,000. Food varies widely: a Filipino meal in a local eatery is ₱200–400, while a beachfront dinner is ₱700–1,500 and cocktails ₱250–450. Getting there also adds up, with flights, the van or port transfer and arrival fees at Caticlan.
When it is cheaper
The wet season from June to October has noticeably lower room prices, though rain and rougher seas on White Beach are more likely. Prices peak at Christmas, New Year, Chinese New Year and Holy Week.
How to spend less
- Stay in Station 3 or Bulabog, where rooms are cheaper and White Beach is still a short walk away.
- Eat Filipino dishes in local eateries away from the beachfront, where prices are lower.
- Buy seafood at D'Talipapa and pay a nearby restaurant to cook it (paluto) instead of ordering seafood platters.
- Join a shared island-hopping tour rather than hiring a private boat.
- Use shared e-trikes and e-jeeps for about ₱20–50 instead of private trikes.
- Avoid Christmas, New Year and Holy Week, when room prices are at their highest.
