Where to sleep for less

Budget travellers stay around Shin-Imamiya and Tennoji, where hotels cost about ¥8,000–14,000 a double and hostels and capsule hotels less, with direct trains to Kansai Airport and Shinsekai. Namba also has many hostels.

Getting around cheaply

Use the Midosuji subway line and an ICOCA card (rides about ¥190–300); walk within Namba and Umeda. From Kansai Airport, the Nankai line to Namba is the cheapest fast option; the Rapi:t costs a little more but is quicker.
