Getting around cheaply
Buy HSL tickets in the app or tap a contactless card: zones AB cover the city and the Suomenlinna ferry, zone ABC includes the airport. The I/P train links the airport and central station in about 30 minutes. The centre is very walkable.

More ways to save

- Buy a day ticket in the HSL app if you take more than two rides.
- Swim and sauna at the cheaper public saunas (such as Kotiharjun in Kallio) instead of design spas.
- Shop at Lidl, K-Market or S-Market for picnics.
- Visit in summer, when parks, beaches and islands provide free entertainment.
- Skip taxis, which are expensive; trams run late and night buses run at weekends.
