Common questions
What is the fastest way from Kansai Airport to Namba?
The Nankai Rapi:t limited express takes about 35–40 minutes to Namba with reserved seats for about ¥1,500. The Nankai Airport Express takes about 45 minutes for roughly ¥1,000 and needs no reservation. Both leave from Kansai Airport station, connected to Terminal 1 by a short walk.
How much is a taxi from Kansai Airport to Osaka?
A metered taxi to central Osaka typically costs about ¥17,000–25,000 plus expressway tolls, and the ride takes about an hour. Some companies offer fixed-fare airport taxis to set areas, which can be cheaper if booked. For one or two people, trains or limousine buses are far better value.
Is there public transport at night?
Trains run until about 23:00–23:30 and start again around 06:00. Some late-night bus services operate, but schedules are limited, so check before you fly. Taxis are available all night but costly. The airport is open around the clock, so some travellers arriving late wait for the first morning train.
Can I use the Japan Rail Pass from Kansai Airport?
Yes, on JR trains: the Haruka limited express and the Kansai Airport Rapid are covered. It is not valid on Nankai trains or airport limousine buses. If your pass is activated on arrival, the Haruka is a good choice for Tennoji, Shin-Osaka or Kyoto.
