Common questions

How much is a taxi from Montréal Airport to downtown?

Taxis charge a flat fare of about C$49 to downtown Montréal, plus a tip of around 10–15%. Outside the downtown zone the meter applies. Taxis wait outside the arrivals level and accept cards. The ride takes about 25–40 minutes depending on traffic.

Does the 747 bus run at night?

Yes, the 747 runs 24 hours a day, every day. During the day it runs every 10–30 minutes, and at night roughly every 30–60 minutes. It is the only public transport from the airport through the night. Have your hotel address ready to confirm it is within the flat-fare zone.

Is there a train from Montréal Airport?

Not yet. The REM automated light rail is being extended to the airport, but at last check the airport station was not open. Until it is, the 747 bus, taxis and ride-hailing are the options. Check the REM website for the latest status.

Can I pay by card for the 747 bus?

Yes, if you buy your ticket from the machines in the arrivals hall, which accept cards. On the bus itself, only coins in the exact amount are accepted, with no change given. Buying at the machine is easier. Keep the ticket for later rides that day.
