May, June and September are the best months, with warm weather, a warm sea and few crowds. July and August are busier and windier, though still calm compared with the Cyclades; there is almost no rain from June to September.

Mild, with rain on only a few days a month by April and May; good for walking. Easter brings pilgrims from all over Greece.
Summer (Jun–Aug)
