Best time to visit Oman: month by month
Short answer
October to March is the best time, with highs of about 24–31°C, cool desert and mountain nights and almost no rain. April and October are already hot (about 33–34°C). From May to September, highs of 37–39°C make outdoor sightseeing hard, except in Salalah during the khareef monsoon.

Highs rise from about 31°C in March to 38°C in May; March is still comfortable, May very hot.
Summer (Jun–Aug)
Very hot, with highs of 37–39°C and lows of 29–31°C in the north; Salalah in the south is green and misty during the khareef.
Autumn (Sep–Nov)
Highs fall from about 36°C in September to 30°C in November; the season starts in October.
Winter (Dec–Feb)
The best weather, with highs of 24–27°C and lows of 17–19°C; cold nights in the mountains and desert, and peak season.

When to avoid
Avoid May to September in northern Oman if you want to hike, explore wadis or visit the desert, because highs reach 37–39°C. Christmas and New Year are the busiest and most expensive weeks.
