Spring (Mar–May)
Bishkek warms from about 12°C in March to 23°C in May, with 10–16 rainy days a month; the lowlands are green, but Song-Kol is usually still closed by snow.
Summer (Jun–Aug)
Bishkek reaches about 29–32°C and Issyk-Kul is good for swimming. This is the season for yurt camps and treks, though mountain nights can fall below 5°C.
Autumn (Sep–Nov)
September is dry and pleasant (about 25°C in Bishkek) and the last month for Song-Kol; October drops to about 15°C and November to about 9°C, with snow in the mountains.
Winter (Dec–Feb)
Cold, with Bishkek highs about 2–6°C and lows down to about −6°C; mountain roads are snowbound, but skiing is possible near Karakol.
