Best time to visit Colombia: month by month
Short answer
Colombia's weather depends on altitude, so there is no single best season. On the Caribbean coast (Cartagena), December to March is the driest time, at 31-32°C with only 3-8 rainy days a month; April to November is wetter, with 18-28 rainy days. In the Andes (Bogota, Medellin, the Coffee Region), December to March and July to August are generally drier.

Spring (Mar-May)
On the coast, 31-32°C with rain rising from 8 to 24 days a month. In the Andes, April and May are among the wettest months.
Summer (Jun-Aug)
Coast about 30-31°C with 22-26 rainy days, often short storms. The Andes are drier in July and August, good for the Coffee Region.
Autumn (Sep-Nov)
The wettest season: about 29-30°C on the coast with 23-28 rainy days, and rain in the Andes in October and November.
Winter (Dec-Feb)
The main dry season, with 31-32°C and 3-8 rainy days on the coast and drier weather inland. Peak holiday season.

When to avoid
October and November are the wettest months in most regions. Christmas to mid-January, Holy Week and late June-July are busy and expensive, especially in Cartagena.
