Short answer
November to April is the best time: dry and sunny with highs of about 25–29°C, almost no rainy days, and humpback whales from about December to April. May to July are hot (30–33°C) but still mostly dry, while August to October is the hottest, most humid period and the peak of the hurricane season.

Spring (Mar–May)
Dry and sunny, with highs rising from about 27°C in March to 30°C in May and essentially no rain; whales are still around in March and early April, but spring break brings student crowds.
Summer (Jun–Aug)
Hot, with highs of 31–33°C and warm nights of 24–27°C; August has more rain (about 9 rainy days) and hurricane season is under way.
Autumn (Sep–Nov)
September and October stay hot (31–32°C) and are the riskiest months for storms; by November it is drier and pleasant at about 29°C.
Winter (Dec–Feb)
The most popular season: dry and sunny at about 25–27°C by day and 16–18°C at night, with whale watching at its best from January to March.

When to avoid
