Short answer
December to May is the dry season, with highs of about 26–29°C and the most reliable weather; April has the fewest rainy days (about 11). The dry season is also the busiest and most expensive, especially at Christmas and Easter. June to November is hotter and wetter, with hurricane risk peaking from August to October.

Highs of about 28–29°C and the driest weather (11–19 rainy days, mostly short showers); April to June has the best water visibility for diving.
Summer (Jun–Aug)
Highs of about 29–30°C and lows of 26°C, with 23–27 rainy days a month and the start of hurricane season; lower prices and Lobster Fest.
Autumn (Sep–Nov)
Still 28–30°C, with 21–27 rainy days; September and October are the peak hurricane months, when some lodges close.
Winter (Dec–Feb)
The most comfortable temperatures, about 26–27°C by day and 23°C at night, with frequent but usually brief showers; peak season.

When to avoid
September and October are the peak hurricane and wettest months, and some lodges and tour operators close. Christmas, New Year and Easter are crowded and expensive, so book early if you go then.
