Events worth planning around
- Pohela Boishakh, the Bengali New Year, on 14 April, with processions in Dhaka

- Victory Day, 16 December
- Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, on dates that move each year with the lunar calendar
When to avoid
Avoid the peak monsoon (June to August) if you want the Sundarbans and easy travel, and check Eid dates: transport sells out and many businesses close for several days.
