Winter (Dec–Feb)
Mild but wet and windy, with highs around 14–16°C, lows near 10°C and 8–13 rainy days a month; ferries can be cancelled in storms and much is closed.
Events worth planning around

- Summer exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Goulandris Foundation in Chora (roughly June to September)
When to avoid
Avoid mid-August if you dislike crowds, high prices and full ferries, especially around 15 August. Avoid December to February if you want swimming and reliable boats.
