Short answer
The best times are March to May and September to November, with highs of about 18–24°C and few rainy days, plus the grape harvest in March–April. Summer is hot (26–27°C on average, with heatwaves above 35°C) and February–March is festival season, when hotels fill. Winter is cool and wetter, but quiet and cheaper.
