Common questions

Is Malaga or Valencia cheaper?

Which has the better beach?

Valencia. Malvarrosa and Cabanyal form a long, wide strip of fine sand reached by tram from the centre. Malaga's city beaches, such as La Malagueta and Pedregalejo, are pleasant and closer to the old town, but narrower and with darker sand. For more beautiful coves near Malaga, head east to Nerja, about an hour away.

Which is warmer in winter?

Malaga, slightly. Average January highs are about 17°C in Malaga and 16°C in Valencia, and Malaga is often sunnier. Both are mild enough for walking and outdoor terraces in winter, but the sea is too cold for most swimmers. Summer is similar in both, at around 31–32°C in July.
