Common questions
Is Cordoba or Granada cheaper?
Cordoba, slightly. Our mid-range estimate is about €148 per person per day in Cordoba against about €161 in Granada. In practice, Granada's free tapa with each drink can bring food costs down a lot. Hotels near the Alhambra and in the Albaicín are the priciest beds in either city.
When is the best time to visit?
Spring and autumn. Cordoba is among the hottest cities in Spain, around 39°C in July, so avoid midsummer if you can; May brings the patios festival. Granada is a little cooler at about 36°C in July. In January both sit around 13 to 14°C by day, with cold nights.
Do I need to book the Alhambra in advance?
Yes. Tickets are timed and limited, and the Nasrid Palaces have a fixed entry slot. In spring and autumn they often sell out weeks ahead. Book on the official site as soon as your dates are fixed, and plan the rest of your Granada days around that slot.
