How to get from Leros to Samos
In summer, catamarans in the Dodecanese link Leros with Samos (Pythagorio), usually via Lipsi, Patmos and Agathonisi, about 2 to 3 h 30. Outside summer, direct sailings are rare, and you may need to change in Patmos or go via Piraeus.
Best option: Ferry. Summer catamarans are the only direct option.

Common questions
Is there a direct ferry?
In summer, yes: catamarans link Leros and Samos, usually stopping at Lipsi, Patmos and Agathonisi. Outside summer, sailings are fewer. Check current timetables. In August the catamarans can be full, so booking a few days ahead is wise. Boats are small and may be cancelled in strong winds.
How long is the trip?
About 2 to 3 h 30 depending on stops. The boats are fast but small, so they can be uncomfortable in rough seas. Sit at the back of the boat if you get seasick, and keep some time free in case of delays.
Which port in Leros?
Catamarans usually use Agia Marina, while larger ferries use Lakki. Check the port on your ticket, as the two are about 10 minutes apart by road. Taxis are available at both ports, and some hotels offer pickup if you arrange it in advance.
What if there is no direct boat?
You can go via Patmos, or via Piraeus, which is long. Plan around the direct catamaran days if possible. Going via Piraeus takes at least a full day and often involves an overnight ferry, so it only makes sense if no catamaran fits your dates.
