How to get from Kefalonia to Lefkada
In summer a car ferry links Fiskardo in northern Kefalonia with Vasiliki in southern Lefkada, about 1 hour, often with a stop at Frikes on Ithaca. Outside the summer season there is usually no direct boat, and the trip means a long detour via the mainland.
Best option: Ferry. The summer Fiskardo–Vasiliki ferry is the only direct link.

Common questions
Is there a ferry all year?
No. The direct ferry between Fiskardo and Vasiliki runs in summer, usually from May or June to September. Outside these months there is usually no direct boat, and you need to go via the mainland, which takes much longer. Check current timetables.
How long is the ferry?
About 1 hour to 1 h 30, depending on whether it stops at Frikes on Ithaca. The boat carries cars, so you can bring your rental car if your contract allows it. Ask your rental company about ferry use before you book.
Can I do it as a day trip?
In summer, sometimes. If there is a morning sailing and an evening return, you can spend a day on Lefkada. Check the timetable before you plan. Fiskardo is about 1 h 15 by road from Argostoli, so allow time to reach the port in the morning.
Do I need to book ahead?
In July and August, booking car space is wise as the ferry is small. Foot passengers can usually buy tickets at the port. Arrive at the port at least 30 minutes before departure. Sailings can be cancelled in strong winds, so check on the day.
