Why visit Moab?

Moab is a small town in eastern Utah that is the gateway to two spectacular national parks, Arches and Canyonlands, and one of the best outdoor adventure bases in the United States. It sits among red rock canyons beside the Colorado River.

Arches National Park has more than 2,000 natural stone arches; hike to Delicate Arch, Utah's symbol, ideally at sunset, and explore the Windows and Devils Garden areas. Timed-entry reservations are often required in season. Canyonlands National Park's Island in the Sky district offers huge views over canyons, with Mesa Arch at sunrise a classic photo. Dead Horse Point State Park overlooks a sweeping bend of the Colorado River. Moab is famous for mountain biking on trails such as Slickrock, for off-road jeep tours, rafting on the Colorado and canyoneering. Summers are very hot; spring and autumn are the best seasons, and dark skies make stargazing superb.
