Is Parga expensive? What things really cost in 2026
Short answer
Parga is moderately priced for the Greek mainland coast: a budget day is about €70 per person and a mid-range day about €140. It costs less than the famous islands, but the small town fills in July and August, when rooms and parking near the harbour are in demand.

Where the money goes
Rooms are the biggest cost, from about €50–80 a double in the upper streets to €80–150 at Krioneri, the harbour or Valtos, and €150–300 for villas around Lichnos. Boat trips are the main sightseeing expense. Food is reasonable in the old town tavernas; a car (about €30–50 a day) is useful for the Acheron and Sarakiniko.
When it is cheaper
May, early June and late September are usually cheaper than July–August, often by roughly 20–40% for rooms. Many hotels close from November to April.
How to spend less
- Stay in the upper streets of the town, a short walk up from the harbour, for lower prices.
- Walk the path over the castle to Valtos instead of taking a water taxi.
- Swim at Krioneri, the free town beach facing the islet.
- Book the Paxos boat the day before and choose a calm day so the caves are included.
- Park in the public car parks above town rather than paying for parking near the harbour.
- Visit in June or September, when rooms cost less and beaches have space.
