Short answer
The Seychelles can be done on a tight budget with self-catering, Creole takeaways and public buses, but it will never be cheap. Allow about SCR 1,800 a day per person, averaged with ferries.

Where to sleep for less
Budget travellers stay in self-catering guesthouses on Mahé, Praslin and La Digue, with doubles roughly €80–150; there are almost no hostels.
Getting around cheaply
Public buses on Mahé and Praslin cost about SCR 10–25. Ferries are the main inter-island cost. From the airport, buses to Victoria are cheap but carry limited luggage; taxis cost much more.
