Common questions

How much is a taxi from Zakynthos airport?

About €15–20 to Zakynthos Town, €15–25 to Laganas or Kalamaki and about €25–45 to Tsilivi, Alykes or further north. Fares are higher at night. Agree the price before getting in, especially on busy charter days.

Is there a bus from the airport?

There is no regular public bus from the airport. Local KTEL buses leave from Zakynthos Town to the main resorts, so you would first need a taxi to town. For most visitors, a taxi or transfer straight to the hotel is simpler.

How long does it take to reach the resorts?

Laganas and Kalamaki are about 10–15 minutes from the airport, Zakynthos Town about 10 minutes, and Tsilivi or Alykes about 25–40 minutes. Distances are short, but island roads are narrow and slow in places.

A car is helpful for reaching beaches like Navagio viewpoint, Porto Limnionas or the north. Rental desks are at or near the airport. In July and August book early, as cars sell out. Roads are narrow; drive carefully.
