Techo International Airport (KTI) to Phnom Penh

Taxis and ride-hailing cars are the main way into central Phnom Penh, taking roughly 45–90 minutes depending on traffic. Public and shuttle bus services to the city have been introduced but schedules change, so check on arrival.

Techo International Airport opened in September 2025 and replaced the old Phnom Penh International Airport (PNH) for commercial flights. Transport links are still developing, so check the latest options before travelling.

Tips

Common questions

Which airport serves Phnom Penh now?

Since September 2025, commercial flights use Techo International Airport (KTI), south of the city. The old Phnom Penh International Airport (PNH) closed to commercial flights. Check that hotel transfers and tickets mention the new airport.

How much is a taxi from the airport to the city?

Expect roughly US$20–35 to central Phnom Penh, depending on your destination and the time of day. Ride-hailing apps such as Grab are often cheaper. Agree the price before setting off if there is no fixed fare shown.

How long does it take to reach the centre?

Usually about 45–90 minutes, as the new airport is farther from the city than the old one and traffic can be heavy. Allow plenty of time when returning for a departure, especially at rush hour and on public holidays.

Is there public transport from the new airport?

Bus and shuttle services to the city were introduced with the new airport, but routes and timetables are still changing. Check at the information desk or on the airport's official channels on arrival. For most travellers a taxi or app ride is more reliable.
