Best time to visit Riga: month by month
Short answer
May to September is best, with highs of 16–23°C, long days and outdoor terraces. Midsummer (Jāņi, 23–24 June) is Latvia's biggest celebration, when many people leave the city for the countryside. Winter is cold, around 0–1°C by day, and dark, but has a beautiful Christmas market.
