Short answer
Quito has 'eternal spring': highs of 16–20°C all year and cold nights around 7–9°C. June to September is the drier season, with only 10–14 rainy days and the clearest volcano views. October to May brings afternoon rain on 24–30 days a month, though mornings are usually sunny.

Mar–May
The wettest period, with 24–30 rainy days and highs of 16–18°C; mornings are often clear.
Jun–Aug
The drier season, with only 10–19 rainy days, highs of 17–19°C and the best volcano views.
Sep–Nov
September is still fairly dry and the warmest month (about 20°C); rain returns in October and November.
Dec–Feb
Rainy afternoons on 25–27 days a month; the Fiestas de Quito in early December and the holiday season.
