Short answer
March to April is the classic time, with highs of about 22–26°C, the grape harvest and the Vendimia festival in early March. October to November is spring, with highs of 24–28°C and very little rain. Summer is hot (about 28–30°C), while winter is cool and dry, with highs of about 13°C and snow in the Andes.

When to avoid
Avoid the Vendimia week in early March if you want lower prices, as hotels fill up. Mid-summer (late December to February) is hot for cycling between wineries, and winter snow can close the Andes road.
