Best time to visit Luxor: month by month
Short answer
October to April is the best time, with highs of about 23–36°C and almost no rain; December and January are the mildest, with highs of 23–25°C but cool nights around 10–12°C. From May to September it is extremely hot, with highs of 39–42°C. Christmas, New Year and Easter are the busiest weeks.

Spring (Mar–May)
Highs rise from about 29°C in March to 39°C in May; good early in the season, very hot by May.
Summer (Jun–Aug)
Highs of 41–42°C and lows of 26–27°C; visit sites at 6:00 and stay inside in the afternoon. Quiet and cheaper.
Autumn (Sep–Nov)
Highs fall from about 40°C in September to 30°C in November; the season picks up from October.
Winter (Dec–Feb)
Highs of 23–25°C and lows of 10–12°C, with no rain; the most comfortable and the busiest time.

Avoid June to August unless you are used to extreme heat, as highs reach 41–42°C. If you want fewer crowds and lower prices in the cool season, avoid Christmas, New Year and Easter.
