Short answer

The dry season, roughly April to October, is the best time, with July the driest month (about 18 rainy days) and average highs of about 25-27°C, though coastal Bali and Yogyakarta often reach 30-32°C on sunny days. November to March is the wet season, with about 28-29 rainy days a month, usually heavy afternoon storms. July, August and late December are busiest and most expensive in Bali.
