Short answer
May to June and September to October are best, with Tbilisi at about 20–29°C, green mountains in spring and the wine harvest (rtveli) in autumn. July and August are hot in Tbilisi (about 31–33°C) but the best months for high mountain hikes in Kazbegi and Svaneti.

Spring (Mar–May)
Tbilisi warms from about 11°C in March to 23°C in May, with 9–13 rainy days; blossom and green valleys, though high passes may still have snow.
Summer (Jun–Aug)
Hot in Tbilisi, with highs of about 29–33°C; ideal for Kazbegi, Svaneti and the Black Sea at Batumi, which is busiest in July–August.
Autumn (Sep–Nov)
September (about 26°C) and October (about 19°C) are excellent, with the grape harvest in Kakheti; November cools to about 14°C.
Winter (Dec–Feb)
Tbilisi is cold but mostly dry, with highs of about 7–9°C; ski season in Gudauri and Bakuriani, while some mountain roads close.
