Winter (Dec–Feb)

Mild days of about 15–17°C, lows around 6–8°C and 6–10 rainy days a month. Quiet and cheap, good for ruins, but many resorts close.

Events worth planning around

When to avoid

Mid-July to late August is the hardest time for sightseeing because of the heat and crowds; if you go then, plan ruins for early morning only. In mid-winter many resorts and some boat trips close.
