Where to stay in Tsagarada
Tsagarada is a mountain village on the eastern side of Mount Pelion in Greece, spread across four parishes among chestnut and plane trees, above the Aegean beaches. There is no single centre, so you choose between staying near Agia Paraskevi square, the old mansions of the other parishes or closer to the sea.

Agia Paraskevi square
The square of Agia Paraskevi has a huge plane tree, said to be more than a thousand years old, tavernas and cafes. Guesthouses in stone mansions nearby let you walk to the square for dinner. It is the liveliest part of the village.
Upper parishes (Agioi Taxiarches, Agia Kyriaki, Agios Stefanos)
The other parishes of Tsagarada are spread along the mountain, linked by old cobbled paths (kalderimia). Traditional stone guesthouses here are surrounded by forest and have sea views, and you can walk between parishes.
Near Mylopotamos and Fakistra beaches
Lower down, towards Mylopotamos and Fakistra, a few guesthouses and villas are nearer the beaches. Mylopotamos, with its rock arch dividing two coves, and Fakistra are among the most beautiful beaches of Pelion. You will still drive back up for tavernas.
One thing to think about
Roads are narrow and winding, and the beaches are a drive and a walk down from the village, so a car is almost essential. In winter some guesthouses close or operate only at weekends.

Is Tsagarada good for hiking?
Yes. Pelion has many old stone paths through chestnut and beech forests, linking villages and beaches. From Tsagarada you can walk to Mylopotamos beach and to neighbouring villages such as Xorychti or Mouresi. Bring good shoes, as paths can be steep and slippery.
