Where to stay in Ermioni
Ermioni is split between the bustling Limani harbor on the north side, the quieter Mandraki port to the east, and the pine-covered Promontory of Bisti connecting them. Choosing your base dictates your pace: north brings waterfront tavernas and ferry access, Mandraki offers working-boat authenticity, and Bisti provides secluded nature trails right at the edge of the Peloponnese mainland.

Limani (North Port)
Limani is the beating heart of Ermioni, wrapping around a busy harbor filled with fishing caiques and visiting yachts. The wide promenade is lined with cafes and seafood restaurants where locals gather for evening volta. From here, you can easily walk to the central shopping street, the Church of Agioi Anargyroi, and the water taxi dock heading to Hydra, all without needing a car.
Mandraki
Mandraki feels like a traditional Greek fishing village that happens to be part of a town. It is quieter and wind-sheltered, with narrow alleys winding past whitewashed houses and small gardens. It is fully walkable to the central square and supermarkets, and acts as the gateway to the scenic coastal paths leading out of town toward quiet swimming spots like Spiles beach.
Bisti Promontory
The Bisti area sits on a dramatic headland at the very tip of Ermioni, completely enveloped by dense pine woods. There are no cars here, just dirt walking trails looping past ancient ruins and secluded swimming platforms carved into the rocks. While it feels wonderfully remote and wild, it is still only a ten-minute walk back to the bakeries and tavernas of Limani.
One thing to think about
Think twice about booking accommodation directly on the main vehicular approach road coming from Kranidi. It lacks the charm of the ports, can suffer from surprisingly heavy morning traffic noise, and requires a steep uphill walk returning from the sea.

Once you have a bed
The things that sell out first in Ermioni are the small-group tours and the skip-the-line tickets.
Common questions
Do I need a rental car in Ermioni?
You do not need a car if you stay within Limani, Mandraki, or Bisti, as everything is easily walkable. However, a car is useful if you want to explore inland Hermioneia, visit nearby Doliana, or drive to remote mainland beaches without relying on the limited local bus schedules.
How do I get to Hydra from Ermioni?
Hydra is directly opposite Ermioni and just a short boat ride away. You can catch the frequent passenger ferries or high-speed catamarans from Limani harbor, which take about thirty minutes. Alternatively, local water taxis operate on demand during the summer months for flexible day trips.
Is Ermioni good for swimming without a car?
Yes, Ermioni has several swimming spots within walking distance. You can swim right off the rocks along the Bisti pine forest trails, or walk to Mandraki beach and Limnakia. The water is exceptionally clear, though most spots are rocky platforms rather than long sandy stretches.
