How to get from Leros to Patmos
Ferries and catamarans link Leros with Patmos in about 45 minutes–1 h 30, depending on the vessel. Dodekanisos Seaways catamarans and Blue Star Ferries serve the route, and small local boats via Lipsi run in summer. Leros has a small airport with flights to Athens; Patmos has none.
Best option: Ferry. It is the only practical way between the islands, and crossings are short.

Common questions
How long is the ferry?
About 45 minutes by catamaran and up to about 1 h 30 by conventional ferry or local boat, depending on stops. Catamarans run frequently in summer. In winter, schedules are reduced, so check current timetables before planning. In rough weather, catamarans may be cancelled while larger ferries still sail.
Which port on Leros?
Catamarans often use Agia Marina, while larger ferries usually call at Lakki. Local boats to Lipsi and Patmos also leave from Agia Marina. Check your ticket for the port, since the two are on different sides of the island, though only a short drive apart.
Can I do it as a day trip?
Yes, in summer, schedules generally allow an outbound morning crossing and a late afternoon return. This gives time to visit Skala, Chora and the Monastery of St John. Check monastery opening hours, which vary by day. Bring water and a hat in summer, as the walk up to Chora is steep.
Is there a flight?
Patmos has no airport. Leros has a small airport with flights to Athens. The nearest larger airports are on Kos and Samos. Ferries are the only practical way between Leros and Patmos. Sailings from Leros also continue to Lipsi, Samos and Kos, which makes island-hopping easy.
