Can I take a car from Ithaca to Kefalonia?

Yes, the Pisaetos–Sami ferry carries cars. Fares for vehicles are moderate. In July and August, arrive early, as car space is limited and boats fill up. Check with your rental company that taking the car on a ferry is allowed, since some contracts exclude it.

How do I get to Kefalonia airport from Ithaca?

Take the ferry from Pisaetos to Sami, then drive or take a taxi to Kefalonia airport near Argostoli, about 40 minutes. Allow at least two and a half hours from Vathy in total, more in summer. Buses from Sami are infrequent, so book a taxi ahead if you have a flight.
