How to get from Gyeongju to Hiroshima
From Gyeongju, travel to Busan (about 30 min by KTX from Singyeongju), then either fly or take a ferry to Fukuoka and continue by Shinkansen to Hiroshima (about 1 h). Allow about 6–8 h with a flight, or an overnight trip by ferry.
Best option: Flight. A short flight from Busan to Fukuoka plus the Shinkansen is the fastest combination on this route.

Is there a direct flight from Gyeongju to Hiroshima?
No. Gyeongju has no airport. The nearest is Gimhae in Busan, from which flights to Fukuoka are short and frequent. From Hakata station in Fukuoka, the Shinkansen reaches Hiroshima in about 1 h. Check current routes for any direct flights from Busan to Hiroshima.
Can I take a ferry from Korea to Japan?
Yes. Ferries link Busan and Fukuoka, including an overnight service that arrives in the morning. Faster services have operated, but some have been suspended at times. Check current timetables. From Fukuoka's port, take a bus or taxi to Hakata station and the Shinkansen to Hiroshima.
How long does it take from Gyeongju to Hiroshima?
About 6–8 h with a flight from Busan, including the KTX to Busan, airport time, the flight and the Shinkansen. With the overnight ferry, you leave in the evening and reach Hiroshima late morning. Delays at immigration and the airport can add time.
Does the Japan Rail Pass cover Hakata to Hiroshima?
The national Japan Rail Pass covers the Sanyo Shinkansen between Hakata and Hiroshima on most trains, though some of the fastest services need an extra charge. Regional passes from JR West or JR Kyushu may also cover it. Compare the pass price with a single ticket, about ¥9,000–10,000.
