Tips

Common questions

Can I do Seville as a day trip from Córdoba?

Yes. High-speed trains take about 45 minutes and run frequently from early morning to late evening, leaving plenty of time for the cathedral, the Alcázar and the Santa Cruz quarter. Book the Alcázar online, as timed tickets sell out in high season.

Is there a direct train?

Yes. Renfe AVE and Avant and Iryo run direct high-speed trains from Córdoba Central to Sevilla Santa Justa in about 45 minutes, and slower regional trains also run direct. No change is needed. Check the operator on your ticket, as each uses its own app.

What is the cheapest way from Córdoba to Seville?

Avant high-speed trains and early-booked Iryo or AVE fares can cost about €10–20, similar to the bus but much faster. Buses cost about €12–16 and take about two hours. Driving costs fuel only, as the A-4 has no tolls, plus parking in Seville.

Do I need to book ahead?

For the lowest high-speed fares, yes, as prices rise closer to departure. Trains around holidays such as Semana Santa and the April Fair in Seville get very busy, so book well ahead then. Outside those times you can usually buy on the day.
