How to get from Alonissos to Skiathos
Ferries and hydrofoils leave Patitiri, the port of Alonissos, and reach Skiathos in about 1 h 30 to 2 h 30, calling at Skopelos on the way. Alonissos has no airport, so the boat is the only way to travel between the two islands.

Yes, on the conventional car ferries, not on the hydrofoils. Vehicle space is limited in July and August, so book ahead. Skiathos is small and busy in summer, and most visitors manage with buses, taxis or a rented scooter, so taking a car across is only worthwhile if you are continuing to the mainland.
Do I need to book the boat in advance?
For foot passengers outside July and August you can usually buy tickets at the port agencies or online on the day.
