Why visit Tolo?

Tolo is a small beach resort in the Argolid, 11 kilometres from Nafplio, built along a long stretch of sand that slopes gently into calm, shallow water. That makes it one of the best family beach bases in the Peloponnese, with hotels, tavernas and cafés right on the shore.

Offshore lie the small islets of Romvi and Daskalio, and boat trips run along the coast to quiet coves. Tolo's location is its great advantage: Nafplio, with its Venetian old town, the Palamidi fortress and the Bourtzi castle in the harbour, is a few minutes away, and the ancient theatre of Epidaurus, Mycenae with its Lion Gate, and Tiryns are all short drives. Ancient Asine, a Mycenaean acropolis on the headland next to Kastraki beach, can be walked to from Tolo itself. Eat fresh fish on the waterfront and spend days split between the sea and some of the most important ancient sites in Greece.
