Why visit Porto Heli?

Porto Heli is a resort on a deep, sheltered bay at the southern tip of the Argolid, around three hours from Athens by road. It is known for calm water, sailing yachts and some of Greece's most upmarket hotels, but it remains easy-going, with cafés and tavernas lining the harbour.

The bay is perfect for swimming and boating, and the beaches around it are mostly gentle and family-friendly. Water taxis run in minutes to the island of Spetses, with its car-free lanes and captains' mansions, and day trips reach Hydra as well. On the shore of the bay lie the remains of ancient Halieis, partly submerged in shallow water. By car you can reach Ermioni, the theatre of Epidaurus and the old town of Nafplio, so Porto Heli works well for a relaxing beach stay with culture close by.
