How many days do you need in Limassol?
3 days is ideal to explore Limassol's restored old town, vibrant marina, and nearby ancient ruins without rushing the Mediterranean pace. It bridges modern beachfront lifestyle with deep history.
Short answer

2 days
Focus on the historic core. Walk the Limassol Castle, stroll the Molos promenade, and explore the Marina. Spend day two visiting the spectacular clifftop ruins of Kourion and Kolossi Castle nearby.
You give up: You will miss the wine-producing mountain villages of Krasochoria and the beaches of Governor's Beach.
3 days
Adds a dedicated day to head into the Troodos foothills. Visit Omodos village for wine tasting, see the medieval Kelephos Bridge, and relax at a beachfront taverna back in Limassol.
You give up: You cannot comfortably fit a day trip to Paphos archaeological park or Akamas.
5 days
Allows a slow-paced base. Dedicate days to the ancient city-kingdom of Amathus, shopping on Anexartisias, a day trip to Paphos's mosaics, and hiking trails in the Troodos Mountains.
You give up: You miss the far-east coast of Ayia Napa and Protaras.
If you can stay longer
An extra 2-3 days lets you rent a car to explore the divided capital of Nicosia, hike the Avakas Gorge in the Akamas Peninsula, or go deep into the UNESCO-listed painted churches of the Troodos region.

Common questions
How do I get around Limassol?
The seafront is highly walkable, but you need public buses or taxis for Kourion. Renting a car is highly recommended for any day trips into the mountains or to nearby cities.
When is the best time to visit?
May to June and September to October offer perfect beach weather without the oppressive 40°C July and August heat. Spring is ideal for hiking the Troodos.
Is Limassol expensive?
It is the most expensive city in Cyprus due to its business hub status. Marina dining is pricey, but local tavernas in the old town offer excellent value.
