How many days do you need in Koh Lipe?
Koh Lipe is small, but reaching it takes time. Give it 4 days to balance travel with relaxed island living. You'll cover Pattaya Beach, Sunrise Beach, Sunset Beach, and snorkel the surrounding Tarutao National Marine Park without feeling rushed by boat schedules.
Short answer

2 days
Focus purely on the main island. Zip between Sunrise Beach for morning swims, Walking Street for street food and evening drinks, and Sunset Beach for dusk views. You will squeeze in a quick local longtail boat trip to nearby Ko Adang for the viewpoint.
You give up: You miss full-day snorkeling trips to outer reefs like Ko Rawi and Seven-Color Reef.
3 days
Covers all three main beaches and Walking Street leisurely. You add a full-day longtail boat excursion into the Tarutao Marine Park, snorkeling at Jabang's soft corals, picnicking on Ko Rawi's white sands, and hiking up Chado Cliff on Ko Adang.
You give up: Little buffer time for bad weather or simple lazy beach days.
4 days
The complete tropical package. Do everything in the 3-day plan at a unhurried pace, plus rent a kayak to paddle out to Ko Kra, spend an uninterrupted day relaxing at Sanom Beach, and indulge in daily Thai massages and fresh seafood dinners.
You give up: Nothing major; you cover the island and surrounding marine park thoroughly.
If you can stay longer
An extra 2-3 days lets you take a day trip to remote Ko Batu Puteh, do night-diving sessions to see bioluminescent plankton, or take the 1.5-hour speedboat across international waters to Langkawi, Malaysia.

Common questions
How do I get to Koh Lipe?
In high season, take a speedboat from Pak Bara Pier in Satun (1.5–2 hours). You can also arrive via ferry from Langkawi, Malaysia. Transfers require wading ashore from longtail boats, so wear shorts.
When is the best time to visit?
Visit during the dry season from November to April for calm seas, clear waters, and full ferry schedules. May to October brings heavy monsoon rains, rough boat rides, and limited island amenities.
Is Koh Lipe too commercialized?
It is developed along Walking Street with many bars and shops, but the beaches remain stunning. Head to Sunset Beach or Sanom Beach for quieter, low-key vibes away from the night crowds.
