Where to sleep for less
Budget camps outside the Mara gates at Talek or Sekenani and guesthouses in Nairobi's Westlands cost about KSh 6,000–12,000 a night; campsites and hostels in Nairobi and Naivasha are cheaper.
Getting around cheaply
Join a group safari that includes transport from Nairobi. For independent travel, use the Madaraka Express train between Nairobi and Mombasa, matatus for short trips and Uber or Bolt in cities.
