Reims is the capital of Champagne, 45 minutes from Paris by high-speed train, and one of the most historic cities in France. The Museum of the Surrender marks the room where Germany signed its surrender in May 1945. Nearby Épernay, with its Avenue de Champagne, and the vineyard villages of the Montagne de Reims make easy excursions. Try the local pink biscuits of Reims dipped in champagne.
